Mini-tutorial: Dealing with whitespace when writing ixml grammars
One of the observed difficulties for newcomers to ixml when writing a grammar is dealing with whitespace in the input, since it can often be the source of unintended ambiguity. This short tutorial introduces a methodology for constructing grammars that minimises the possibilities of creating ambiguities due to whitespace.

Steven Pemberton is a researcher affiliated with the CWI. Amongst other technologies, he co-designed ABC, the programming language that Python was based on, and web technologies such as CSS, HTML, XHTML, and XForms. He was chair of the W3C HTML working group for a decade, and still chairs the XForms and ixml working groups.
